Testimonials I can't begin to tell you how many parties (ours) and many friends have included scavenger hunts because of the program! I can't believe how much use (and fun) I've received from just one purchase. Really, one of the best on-line, leap of faith purchases I've ever made. I love how it keeps be up-dated and improved as well. Nothing bad to say! Super product! Thank you so much for all of the help you gave me. The party went wonderful! The egg hunt was a blast! Thank you! "Our whole family
loves Riddle Me, for parties, family home evening activities and for a fun
time any day of the week. It is so easy to use even our 6 year old can
create a treasure hunt for the family. Finding presents, Easter baskets or
a candy treat is a lot more exciting when you have to search for it. I used Riddle Me for a easter egg hunt with the basket at the end. Since I had younger and older grandkids I put them on teams. They loved it and it made finding the basket exciting as they went from clue to clue. All I can say is "Thank you" and "WoW"! Sitting down after a long saturday of groceries and a birthday party to shuffle the kids to and from, I began the task of creating the kids easter egg hunt for tomorrow morning. I know, I shouldn't have waited until now, but such is life! Anyway, what a great relief to find your website. Within five minutes and $20 I had my work done! The kids are going to absolutely love the clues, I'm just as excited about this as they will be. . . also, I have the answer to my son's 7 year old party in June! His friends will have a blast going on a treasure hunt. The $20 is definately well spent, especially considering the invitations I can print, and other uses for the clues! (ie. rainy day activities) Thank you again! I just purchased your program last week in order to put together an Easter Egg hunt for older kids who had “outgrown the traditional type of hunt – WHAT A HUGE SUCCESS! I am so excited to use this program again and again – Thanks so much! |
How to Create an Easter Egg Hunt Using Riddle MeIf you're looking for a great way to mix up your Easter activities, look no further than Riddle Me. With thousands of clues on hundreds of objects found around the home, it's easy to set up an indoor or outdoor Easter Egg Treasure Hunt that your kids will love.First, make a Riddle Me puzzle of about 10 clues in length. If there's a location you want the puzzle to end at such as a closet where you've hidden an Easter basket, pick the closet as the ending location. Then print the puzzle out. (example of Riddle Me clue sheets you print out)
Then try one of the following ideas for a fun Easter Scavenger Hunt variation. Simple Easter Egg Treasure Hunt:One simple idea is to buy some of those hollow Easter Eggs that you might usually put candy in. Instead of candy, put riddle clues (and possibly candy) inside them at each of the locations instead of taping them up. As your children run to each location they can find the next clue. As a variation on this for team or individual play, make each color egg unique for each player or team (ie. All green eggs are for one player, blue for another, etc...). For younger children you could just put an egg at each location near a taped up clue. For older children you could hide the egg near the location of the clues. Easter scavenger hunt - Cookie sharing:Again make a riddle hunt using Riddle Me and this time print a list of ingredients to make cookies out of and put 1-2 ingredients inside each egg shell. As the hunters find each egg and pull out the next clue and ingredient, have them go to the kitchen and put that ingredient into the mix, then pick up with the next clue to find the next ingredient. Make the cookies when they're all done and then take some to a neighbor or someone in need, or someone elderly that you know. Here's a simple chocolate chip cookie recipe you can use, or of course use one of your own: Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe (this is a large recipe so you have plenty to share): 3 cups chocolate chips (or 3 cups raisins and 1 1/2 cups oatmeal) Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes Service Project Scavenger Hunt Idea:Another idea is to print a list of service project items from the Riddle Me Scavenger Hunt feature and insert one into each egg. This would be better in a youth group or at least with adult supervision (never let your young children go door to door unsupervised). Then as they find each egg, they go perform a service for someone in the neighborhood. Christian scripture based Easter egg hunt:Use those hollow eggs again and inside each egg put a piece of candy along with the next clue as well as one of the scriptures below (in order). Make the puzzle length for 10 clues and insert the scriptures below in each egg location in that order (copy/paste the list into your own word processor to print them out). On the 9th clue, don't put a piece of candy inside the egg. When your children ask why it's empty, you can have them read the scripture inside the egg (#9 below) and explain that the tomb was empty and the true gift of Easter is the gift of Christ. Then have them find the last egg with their Easter basket or with a piece of candy in it. (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) (8) (9) (no candy--the tomb was empty) (10) Balloon Hunt:Put the clues inside of balloons at each location and let the kids pop the balloons to get the next clue. Large Easter Egg Hunt Clues:I purchased Riddle Me to use as an activity for the Spring Party for my daughter's 5th grade class. We played "Riddle Hunt" on the playground, where there were 50 "riddle" eggs hidden all over the playround (the field is very large). There are 18 kids in the class, so we grouped them into teams of 3-4, and the kids had to work as a team to solve the riddle, and they had pencils to write their answer on the riddle sheet ... they also had to solve the riddle for the egg they had found before they could look for another egg. I printed answer sheets (in alphabetical order, by the first letter in the riddle, using Excel as an easy source for alphabetizing), which were distributed to the teacher and the two other parents helping with the party ... and we spread out over the field. At the beginning of the hunt, each team was given two "hint vouchers", which they could use in exchange for a hint to help them solve the riddle ... but they had to obviously use their hints wisely, because each team only received two ... and they could go to any one of the adults with the answer key to exchange their hint vouchers. At the end, the team with the most correctly solved riddles won (although we gave all teams the same prize for participation). The kids had a BALL!! They even asked if they could do another one for their end-of-year party. And we did an official "Easter" egg riddle hunt on Easter Sunday for my daughter and niece, where we put their Easter Egg baskets at the last riddle location ... they wanted to do it again once they were finished! *smile* So, this is a fantastic product, and I am looking forward to having more fun with it.
