I can't begin to tell you how many parties (ours) and many friends have included scavenger hunts because of the program! I can't believe how much use (and fun) I've received from just one purchase. Really, one of the best on-line, leap of faith purchases I've ever made. I love how it keeps be up-dated and improved as well. Nothing bad to say! Super product!

We printed out two sets of cards, since we didn't know what the weather would be on Halloween night. One set was inside only and the other was inside and outside. It only took minutes to set up the clues and it was half an hour of enjoyable fun for the kids. I think the adults got a bigger kick out of watching the kids squeal and run from location to location. Our pirate themed treasure hunt ended in the backyard with an actual treasure chest buried in the ground with toys inside. People keep asking when we're going to have our next party!

I was working on the scavenger hunt for my soon to be 7 year old son. I tested the trial out to see if he liked the idea and I was thrilled that my 5 year old daughter was yelling out the answers as fast as he did. They both called the dishwasher a washing machine but hey...they went to the right place...works for me. We are having a halloween birthday party so I bought a plastic skeleton that I took apart (11 pieces) and plan to hide a bone in each location. Once they find all the pieces they have to put it back together.

Here are some fun variations you can do to spice up your activity...or just use Riddle Me's regular game to have a ball.
The Search for the Great Pumpkin – Halloween Treasure Hunt
Like Linus from Charlie Brown cartoons, you could have a party looking for the Great Pumpkin! First, choose locations for the children to search from Riddle Me's hunt inventory. Hide a small pumpkin in each location along with the next clue. You could have them collect the smaller pumpkins in a special blankie – like Linus'. The Great Pumpkin they find at the end could be a large pumpkin with treats inside or someone dressed as a pumpkin who gives them a treat.
Witches Brew – Halloween Scavenger Hunt
Have a fun party by collecting items to create a "magical" witches brew. First, select the number of items you want to find from Riddle Me's Nature Scavenger Hunt list. It will produce a random list of items. You can then substitute any for more “witchy type like “something green, an animal bone, or piece of a dead log. After your little “witches have found all the items, have them put them in a bowl or “calderon. Say some magic words and “poof, you “magically produce some treats for them!
Trick or Treat – Halloween Hunt
The children will follow Riddle Me clues to the locations you select from Riddle Me's inventory. At each place they will either find a trick or a treat. Some could even be a treat that is tricky. For example, it could be a flower pot filled with “dirt cake, a plastic container of “kitty liter cake, or spaghetti “guts.
Goofy Costume Party – Halloween Scavenger Hunt
Create a list of funny “wearable items using Riddle Me's scavenger hunt list for example; something with 'boo' on it, a party hat, or a pompom. Give each child a list and send them to find them with the instruction that they must wear what they find. Once everyone is done have a parade and take pictures.
“Who Am I Costume Party – Halloween Riddle Hunt
Have the children collect the pieces of a costume by finding them at different places around the house. Choose the locations from Riddle Me's hunt inventory and it will make the clues for you. Then in each location put a collection of costume items. For example, the first place could have things for your head like a wig, a hat, or a crown. The second place could have items for your face like a mask, glasses, or a clown nose. All the children work together to figure out the clues and go to the places. Once they are there they have to choose what item the want and put it on. In the end, everyone must tell “what they are or name what they are dressed as.
